Having experience in the public, community college and private university settings, Dr. Sanders' professional expertise in postsecondary education encompasses the areas of equity-diversity-inclusion, reenrollment, student success, assessment, leadership development, student health and psychological services, international student programs, athletic academic support services, student government, Title IX, admissions and student conduct.
Dr. Sabrina Sanders has been active in a number of community and professional organizations. She was selected as a National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Fellow and has served on both regional and national leadership boards. She has served as the President of the African American Faculty & Staff Association at California State University Fullerton (CSUF), participated in the National Athletic Academic Advisors Professional Development Institute, Community College Leadership Development Institute, participant in the Harvard University Education, Leadersship & Management Institute and is an Alum of Leadership Long Beach. She mentors a number of young professionals and graduate students aspiring towards a career in higher education through a “Mentee Circle”, awarded the Long Beach Posts “40 under 40” award, the “Woman of Distinction Award” from Senator Ricardo Lara and the State of California “Woman of the Year” by Speaker of the Assembly, Anthony Rendon, 63rd District for her civic engagement and service to the community.
